Spotted Maple Designs

I live, work and play in the Finger Lakes region of New York (NY) State. The Spotted Maple Designs Logo is inspired by the natural wonders that are right outside my door. It represents the NY State tree the ‘Sugar Maple’ and the NY State insect the ‘Nine-spotted Ladybug’. It brings these elements together defining my work and interests in design, illustration, and visual science communication

I have experience in graphic design, fine art, environmental science and public health. My creative work links nature and human well-being with art and design. I particularly like incorporating textures found in nature into my work. I also work as a science illustrator and visual science communicator; working with scientists to better communicate their work through logo design, icon development, poster and presentation design and science art.
